This Ugandan coffee is full of Brown spice aromatics with a creamy mouthfeel and notes of chocolate, orange rind and apple in the cup.
Mount Elgon is a massive solitary volcanic mountain on the border of eastern Uganda and western Kenya. It’s vast form, 80 kilometres in diameter, rises 3,070 metres above the surrounding plains. It’s cooler heights offer respite for humans from the hot plains below, and its higher altitudes provide a refuge for various flora and fauna.
The smallholder producers that have contributed to this lot, grow their coffee along the hills surrounding this ancient mountain. UGACOF that supports the local coffee growing efforts is committed to improving quality in Uganda by building new washing stations and infrastructure and training personnel in the region. They are currently working with more than 8,000 farmers on farming practices, climate-smart agriculture and other best practices that help improve yield and quality while enabling a sustainable future for all.
